  • Switch 2 Pro Controller D-Pad still seems sketchy - ResetEra
It seems like making a great d-pad is something most controller manufacturers drop the ball on I just don’t think it’s a huge priority for most companies since retro gaming is kinda niche The best I’ve used so far recently is the Xbox Series X S d-pad If I could take that d-pad and put it on
  • Greatest D-Pad of ALL TIME? (AKA this damn ModRetro blew me . . . - ResetEra
The Switch Pro controller, for example, feels great in the hand, has big, perfectly-pushy buttons, and a large, Nintendo 4-way D-Pad But going through half a dozen limited edition variants this gen? Every single one has bad directionals and missed inputs It's agitating as heck BLUNTLY? I don't think the Xbox has *ever* had a good official D-Pad
  • Do You Like The Default D-Pad on the Xbox Elite Controller?
for games like Crash Bandicoot or Tomb Raider it's perfect It gives you the precision of a d-pad but feels as comfortable as a joystick I thought I'd hate it at first because of the awful OG Xbox and 360 circular d-pads, but this one might be my favourite d-pad I don't play fighting games on it but for everything else it's comfortable and
  • Switch 2 Pro Controller D-Pad still seems sketchy | ResetEra
I only briefly tested it before SGF but I could immediately tell it was no better than the Switch 1 dpad It still has misinputs
  • Controller users, do you use the left analog stick or the d-pad to . . .
D-pad, unless it's something like AC Valhalla or Ghostrunner w the cursor system Oddly enough though, when it comes to playing retro games, I find myself using the analog stick more and more often for some reason for actual gameplay Still use the d-pad for main pause menus and such though LOL
  • Its disappointing that we are going 8+ years without an official . . .
It's just so incredibly disappointing that Nintendo hasn't sold a left Joycon for a cheaper price that has a Nintendo specific D-Pad instead of the face buttons If I remember correctly it took a while before 3rd parties got their hand on making a left Joycon with a D-Pad, and even then, they never felt as good as a Nintendo D-Pad
  • Switch 2 Pro Controller D-Pad still seems sketchy - ResetEra
I have my doubts the dpad is a lottery issue and is more of a personal issue Like a person with large thumbs is gonna have a very different experience than someone with small thumbs
  • [Kickstarter] GC Ultimate controller (TMR sticks, Split D-pad, Dual . . .
Back buttons is the big one They planned for different shell ergonomics so you can change the grips too Some minor things like a switch to turn off rumble d-pad (probably configurable in the app for this controller), A wire lock mechanism for the USB-C and the ability to add weights to it
  • D-pad vs Analog Stick for 2D Platformers: Do you have a strong . . .
I used to not use them, but the D-Pad is too good for precision platforming Once I made the shift to D-Pad games like Meat Boy and Celeste became way easier I still have a bad habit of using the stick first whenever I boot up a 2D platformer, but always transition to the pad by the end of things
