Facebook Desktop messenger is terrible. Doesnt work properly since Oct . . . The Facebook Messenger app is not created by Microsoft, their own developers create that app for PC and smart phones, if it is not working correctly, try uninstalling the app, restart your PC then re-download the app, if it is still not working correctly, it would be best to contact Facebook Support on their website

It opened no prompting me to update anymore - I hope that lasts
