Neurocognitive Assessment of Pilots: The FAA Perspective CONCLUSION: In evaluating aeromedically significant neurocognitive deficits, simulator testing cannot provide the quality of aeromedical data for risk-based decision making that is available through the use of standardized neurocognitive measures, particularly those normed on pilots and validated with pilot flight performance
CAMI Altitude Chamber - Pilots of America CAMI stands for Civil Aerospace Medical Institute which is where studies are made with many aspects such as aircraft impact tests and pilot physiology Since they offer free hypoxia and altitude chamber classes, our instructors take classes each year The first portion of the training consisted of a four hour class starting at 8 in the morning
Choosing location for a flight school | Pilots of America Id highly recommend going to Pilot Institute for some info on this, they have a free course for becoming a pilot and talks about certain questions to ask, that free course is incredible and i wish i had it when i started i will leave you with this
Pilot Institute vs. King School Instrument - Pilots of America What are your thoughts about Pilot institute instrument course and or King school instrument course? Which one will have you better prepared to become checkride ready via knowledge oral portion? how long did it take you to study (weeks) the instrument ground school for the checkride (via courses above)?
Ground school. . . how did you do it? | Pilots of America I think with a great online course and a sim (e g X-Plane), you can learn A LOT before even stepping into an airplane in addition to passing the Knowledge Test upfront I highly recommend Pilot Institute Greg is more focused on drone these days since it is way more popular (and less money) but his PPL course is super fantastic
New CFI (Me) and my Son - Pilots of America I'm considering enrolling him in an online ground school program (i e , Sporty's, King, The Pilot Institute, etc ), so at least he'll have a formal ground school and could take the written test as soon as he's eligible; I'll sit in with him while he does it, not only as a great refresher for me, but so I can impart to him any additional
Best of: Podcast and YouTube for Aviation | Pilots of America YouTube: Flywire with Scott Purdue, Aviation News Talk (also a great podcast), Air Safety Institute, Backcountry 182, Boldmethod, although they haven’t posted in a long time, still a ton of great videos Many more Just search in YouTube and you’ll find a ton Podcasts: Opposing Bases, Aviation News Talk, AOPA Pilot Briefing and There I Was, Ask the A Ps, Airplane Geeks, Behind the Prop
What is the best way to study for the Instrument Written Test? Lots of people recommending Shephard Air or Sporty's for instrument, but has anyone used Pilot Institute's courses? It's not supposed to be a case of one or the other Shepard's "method" includes taking a full ground school before starting to use their software Take a complete ground school first, then move on to Shepard if you wish
Redbird Flight Simulator - Pilots of America I just finished the Pilot Institute private pilot course and passed the exam last Friday I'd highly recommend it I'm not familiar with the King courses, but this worked for me Not sure on the sim question, but if the hourly cost was anywhere near the same, I'd prefer the real plane
What happens if you are guilty of a runway incursion? One is an enforcement action taken against a pilot that seeks to confirm a violation (find you "guilty" or "responsible" if that helps) for which the potential penalty is the suspension or revocation of a pilot certificate rather than a civil penalty (a "fine"); the other is the penalty
