MS Edge wont let me remove it . . . if "Search engine used in the address bar " is not already set to DuckDuckGo, select it from the dropdown in "Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar" select address bar from the drop down, this will mean it will use your preferred search engine even if you type in the search box on the new tab page
