What is the BOP Academy like? - Officer. com First BOP does not have an Academy You attend the "Intro to Corrections Course" at Glynco and it is only 3 weeks long They are way behind so most staff are not attending until 6-8 month time frame You will work like normal until you attend the only difference is until you get through Glynco you CAN NOT work any armed posts (Tower, Perimeter etc) and you ARE NOT qualified to carry off duty
