Drop the bearing carriers from the ball joints (one at a time) and drill the cast steel bearing carriers out to 3 8" (surprisingly easy to drill) then line the ball joint back up and slide a 3 8x2" grade 8 bolt in (this required minimal tapping with a hammer) now the ball joints are pushed up against the outside of the bearing carrier and sandwiched
