Lollipop trees and dead branches | UBC Botanical Garden Forums So yesterday I saw a tree with many many dead branches and a few upper branches with leaves only So the point I made to him and for this thread is that if you don't give your tree light and air during Spring and Summer, you will have a lot of dead branches the following year Japanese maples need to be light and appear floaty
euonymus | UBC Botanical Garden Forums Part above trunk will assume same appearance as if growing right on the ground unless pruned regularly Trunk will thicken with age Same plant as shrub form, just pruned and trained to have lollipop shape Head might also have been grafted on top of trunk, although suspect probably not with this type of shrub Trunk may produce sprouts which will have to be pruned off to maintain single clear
2024 Virtual Garden Tour - welcome! - UBC Botanical Garden Forums 2 Lollipop asiatic pink white Lily I grow in container and thread through an arbutus (madrone ) native self grown tree (it volunteered) 3 seasonal decor for upcoming July 1 and our family July 4 4 and a silly nature cartoon I relate to in more ways than one (yet despite their fitness, they can reach over and decapitate my Lily plants !)
Advice needed about exposed root on nursery maple I'm really tempted to pick this tree up though as it is a Jackfrost (cross between JM and Korean maple) pseudosieboldianum which apparently fare better colder zones The tree is mature and appears healthy but I'm worried about the very exposed roots and rusty colour at this time of year (July) Is it normal to have this much root exposed?
