Approved Aftermarket CVT Fluids - Subaru Crosstrek and XV Forums Subaru Lineartronic is basically Nissan NS-2 so most aftermarket is compatible, but Subaru High Torque is special that is thinner and less slippery that address NS-2 shortcoming as documented on Amsoil website My guess subaru does not put subaru high torque on crosstrek purely for cost reason
