the lake had barely been open a year, but it had already become a major part of life for sailors in the area. with two arms, one running east to west and one north to south, lake joe pool could provide a comfortable point of sail anytime the wind was blowing enough to move a boat. add in a brand new marina with space for over 200 sailboats and it was inevitable that a yacht club would blossom and grow here.
