Just wanted to create a discussion thread for the Class of 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program I’m aware that it is a bit early in the game, but as the last round of PSAT scores will be released next week, I think it would be smart to have a head start!
Merit Scholarships for 33 ACT and top 10 percent class rank The purpose of this thread is to provide an updated list of merit scholarship possibilities for students with a 33 ACT and top 10% class rank I’ve focused on merit scholarships that would bring tuition (a) under $20,000 for universities with USNWR rank of 100 or lower, or (b) under $10,000 at any other university This is a list of universities that offer a HIGH likelihood of receiving a 4
USC reduced National Merit Finalist Scholarship to FLAT 20K year This is a decrease of about 15K per year right now (previously half tuition) Because the amount is now a flat rate, it will also become less valuable as tuition increases (the scholarship used to scale with tuition) Appears to have been updated December 19th 2024-25 Year: 20K year 2023-24 Year: 34,952 year + 3K year (university scholarship) It’s unclear whether the 3K university
Merit Scholarships based on ACT Score of 35 - Paying for College . . . Our son is a junior and scored a 35 on the recent ACT test His GPA is 4 57 Are there any (safety ?)Colleges that give out merit scholarships based on ACT scores and GPA, etc? He will have 8 years of foreign language on his transcripts And he will be taking German this summer at Harvard summer school Any suggestions would be appreciated

How to discreetly mention another schools offer during appeal process . . . Are the any other opportunities for merit awards for which I might apply or a process for review of my need-based aid package in which I can engage prior to the May 1st deadline? Are there additional circumstances about our family’s financial situation which could assist in the reconsideration of my package?
