Share your opinion about Lexia - DCUM Weblog My son is in first grade and doing 3rd grade and up Lexia work His teacher printed off paperwork to do at home and he doesn’t know any of the words And this is supposed to be the level that he just completed (Core 5 Level 15 I if that means anything to you guys) I saw him use it once in kindergarten (he doesn’t use it at home) and it looked okay, but I think what some of the other
Aps - Lexia Core5 - DCUM Weblog APS parents: the district has discovered that having too many Safari tabs open is leading to trouble with Lexia and the other apps Force close Safari Then restart and try Lexia again
At what level should a fluent reader start in Lexia? - DCUM Weblog Lexia has 5 areas of instruction My understanding is that it places the student at the lowest level they score in any one area, because the program doesn’t allow different levels for different areas (Power Up, the 6th and up program, does allow kids to be in different levels for, say, grammar and comprehension )
How is Your School Using Lexia Core 5? - DCUM Weblog LEXIA is actually a pretty powerful tool It's especially helpful for students that are working below grade level in decoding, encoding, sentence structure, etc Students at our school use Lexia during Reading Work Stations while teachers are working with small groups
Share your opinion about Lexia - DCUM Weblog Lexia—Core5 and PowerUp programs have 3 components: online, small group (teacher led) lessons, and independent Skill Builders Using all three takes a degree of skill and training that many teachers haven’t yet acquired
HOPE ratings - pls post - DCUM Weblog DS is in Level II AAP, Above grade level for Lexia Core 5 and ST Math, Frankly I don't know why HOPE rating is so low I'm sorry, that sounds ridiculous His scores should merit his entry alone I would ask to speak to his teacher Not to attack them, but to say I'm concerned there are issues happening in the classroom that I'm not aware of

Share your opinion about Lexia - DCUM Weblog Many adults have not learned the formal grammar concepts in Lexia (and are leading very successful lives, by the way!), so they may have limited ability to help with certain sections Pros - Offers tailored instruction based on level, with just-in-time instruction Ensures that students really understand a concept before moving forward
4th grade Lexia levels (APS) - DCUM Weblog APS is being very cagey about this because the lexia data is showing that many many kids are way behind in reading Yep They don't want to disclose this My 5th grader tested around grade 3 1 2 Not sure actual levels-was never told I know he's on the lower end of his peers OP, good luck getting an assessment or tutoring from APS
Does your school allow your kid to do Lexia at home? I thought Lexia core is more like assistant learning resource We have reports as teachers that show what students are struggling with each week and we are supposed to teach those lessons in small groups I guess if a parent assists the kid at home, we don’t see accurate answers?
