2024 Houston Update - Wall Street Oasis TPH PWP: Had an okay year, did CrownRock and ONEOK Volume is not high and they pitch often They have the highest pay and good exits RBC: Lowkey underrated in terms of dealflow, arguably one of the best midstream groups due to Canadian presence Regularly do deals with Enbridge, EQT, and Energy Transfer, and do well on cap markets side as well
PWP - Culture, Compensation, Hours, Groups | Wall Street Oasis Ex-PWP analyst here Would agree with what DJSol69 said above Something unique about PWP is definitely the firm's culture - the founders heavily emphasize firm culture and development and it really shows even at the senior level (both Weinberg and Perella are notorious for having expectations on how the partnership conducts itself and each partner's responsibility in maintaining firm culture)
Is PWP stagnant? - Wall Street Oasis PWP's growth strategy has also had some questionable decisions looking back (not building out the Tech group earlier, gutting Media Telecom completely), but a lot of that growth strategy has been due to PWP's preference to find its own niche and not compete in a crowded field (eg why PWP Tech is focused a lot more on growth capital and MM
PWP West Coast Offices - Wall Street Oasis PWP SF HC has the worst culture out of the 3, but is quite strong in terms of dealflow The people are very smart there but the culture is definitely a bit more tough and the group overall is pretty sweaty Exits are very good PWP LA has the best culture and dealflow out of the 3
PWP Updated Outlook 2025 - Wall Street Oasis Agree with the culture aspect PWP definitely has fewer IB-> PE hardos than Evercore Moelis Lazard, and I think that's reflected in their lower on-cycle participation rate as well as higher A2A conversion and number of exits into CorpDev post-analyst stint
JPM vs PWP - Wall Street Oasis My buddy at PWP told me his analyst class only had 2 MF placements in the entire bank JPM is far better for large cap PE exits Edit: just got spammed with 4 MS in like 20 seconds This "hellskitchen" dude (clearly a PWP analyst - check his post history) has multiple accounts going crazy trying to defend their bank lmfao
An. 1 PWP vs. Jefferies - Wall Street Oasis PWP Especially if you know the team and the culture Jefferies has terrible culture Marginally benter MM PE exits but no worth your mentail health I agree with you the culture is awful at JEF but when you’re a banker bad deal flow is the kiss of death and the PWP senior mgmt team can be brutal when things aren’t performing for a while
PWP Groups - Wall Street Oasis Strengths: Strong deal flow, high-quality mandates, and the best exits at PWP, including UMM and MF PE Culture : Lean group, which means juniors get significant exposure but at the cost of work-life balance (WLB)
Perella Weinberg Partners - 173 Entries | Wall Street Oasis Perella Weinberg Partners pays an average salary of $110,000 per year This base compensation is the equivalent of $55 per hour assuming a 40 hour work week (2,000 hours per year)
