Personally, using plastic is part of the issue It doesn't cut through the RTV as well as the 2013-2020 metal screens, so bigger pieces of RTV accumulate easier They take longer to break and get filtered out RTV isn't the issue, many vehicles use it It's having a bunch arriving around the same time and or collecting in the pickup tube
