SAYA Established in 1996, South Asian Youth Action (SAYA) is a youth development organization providing holistic, impactful, free, year-round programming to underserved New York City youth
Our Programs — SAYA Within our after school and summer programming, SAYA provides our diverse students with allies within the school system who understand their unique experiences and challenges, and support their social, emotional, and scholastic growth

Our Team — SAYA Prior to joining SAYA, she worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where she worked collaboratively with non-profits on program evaluation for chronic diseases She is passionate about utilizing data to enact change and supporting efforts to better social and health equity
Mission — SAYA SAYA serves a diverse group of youth, hailing from various ethnic and religious backgrounds - many of whom identify as South Asian, descending from countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Guyana, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tibet, and Trinidad and Tobago
Our History — SAYA Over the course of our history, SAYA has broken down the “model minority” myth, and paved the way for greater attention and investments in social services for the South Asian population
Elmhurst Center — SAYA Young people also learn valuable skills such as personal finance and negotiation, to help them continue to grow their independence throughout their time at SAYA, in college, and beyond
Give the Gift of Education — SAYA Established in 2014, the SAYA Scholarship Fund is a need-based, individual donor-supported initiative dedicated to helping New York City’s South Asian youth mitigate the costs of attending college
