Since the Sharc is taking the eARC CEC output from the TV and sending it to an AVR input, if CEC is enabled on the AVR and other devices are connected there then it can create a CEC loop: device->AVR->TV->Sharc->AVR That's why officially Sharc recommends all devices going to the TV (or Sharc with the V2)

Sharc - The eArc device that can save you thousands as you . . . - ResetEra shArc takes eARC in, and outputs regular HDMI audio Zone-2 takes eARC in, and outputs regular HDMI audio while also passing through the eARC signal You should only need the Zone-2 if you plan on using two sound devices connected to the same display, with each of those devices only accepting one of the two formats (HDMI audio and eARC audio)
