Company News:
  • Your experience with RCA brand audio equipment?
Even the smaller table top models, SHF-7, SHF-8, and SHF-9 (awesome little record player) played loud and clean at only 2 5 watts RMS from a pair of push-pull 50c5 tubes The stereo consoles following during the early 60's were not as good sounding, and lacked power of the earlier mono versions with their weak single ended amps
  • Circling From Above - New Album 2025 - New Album 2025 | Steve Hoffman . . .
Ever since they announced a new album and said late May as release, I've been googling every week or so (even earlier today, which lead me to this thread on SHF LOL,) for any more info about a release date and possible singles

  • Does this forum motivate you to purchase more audio gear?
Thanks to the SHF reading about music lovers from all walks of life and many different countries has become an interesting part of this fine hobby, imo Tim 2 , May 15, 2025 #13
  • Cut a mediocre album down to an excellent single
That's the overwhelming consensus of 57 years of reviews from critics and listeners, and is the overwhelming consensus on SHF I know almost nobody who has anything bad to say about it I had someone I've known for over 30 years block me permanently on social media for saying it should have been a single LP like George Martin wanted
  • The Beatles Best Pressings list - Steve Hoffman Music Forums
What an invaluable thread and fun read Amazed by the knowledge shared I'm a bit of a Beatles late bloomer, but have been able to learn about, appreciate and enjoy listening to them more thanks to SHF and threads like this, leading me to find, buy and hear The Beatles in some terrific ways
  • Cut a mediocre album down to an excellent single
I know this album has been mentioned many times on SHF but maybe not in this thread: Blue by Double It contains the haunting, ethereal "The Captain of Her Heart" The rest of the album is boring elevator music I had the single I don't recall what was on the B-side, nor do I remember any of the other songs except one about a "woman of the world"
