vlan - Can anyone please explain L3 SVI configuration ,What is SVI and . . . 1 I am learning about switching and came across SVI in vlans ,I Googled and watched couple videos and got really confusing Firsly where do we use Svi? and why do we use it,How to configure svi and what are the benefits of using svi, How to determine svi on a cisco or Nexus Switch please any help is highly appreciated
Some extra clarification regarding VLANs and SVI Just configuration SVI in switch deployed in core layer and configure trunk ports between distribution switch or access switch to ensure passing all vlan between core switch and access - switch And further connect computers or servers to access -switches by passing specific vlan on access -port as per requirement
VLAN Interface is down, protocol is down - Network Engineering Stack . . . Now i have added another VLAN (SVI) and assigned that VLAN to one of the port , but VLAN interface is still showing "VLAN350 is down, line protocol is down" I made sure i entered "no shutdown" command on SVI and physical interface
Understanding traffic flow on SVIs [closed] - Network Engineering Stack . . . If i put a service-policy output on the SVI Vlan10 Does this affect yellow2 green1 traffic? If i put a service-policy input on the tunnel1 interface Does this affect yellow3 green4 traffic? If i put a service-policy output on the tunnel1 interface Does this affect yellow4 green3 traffic? If i put a service-policy input on the dialer1
Multiple IP Addresses on VLAN Interface (SVI) Let's say that there is a SVI for VLAN 100 and it's been assigned the first usable IP address in subnet 192 168 1 0 24 There is a host on VLAN 100 with an IP address of 192 168 1 130
cisco - What is the purpose of a switch routed port? - Network . . . I don't understand what are the benefit of having a routed port between the distribution and access, and more generally, the purpose of routed ports except for inter-VLAN routing like with the router-on-a-stick method (and even there, it seems that SVI are a better approach)
Cisco - Network Engineering Stack Exchange To enable the SVI, you would need to add a no shutdown statement to your configurations unless you had previously configured and enabled the SVI This also assumes that the DHCP server is connected to Fa0 3 on SwA and that the station is connected to Fa0 2 on SwB based on your configuration above
