Recreating Taste - Hoe Kow's Beef Fried Rice by Joni L » Tue Feb 09, 2016 5:59 pm Does anyone remember Hoe Kow on Evergreen? They had the best beef fried rice I have ever had; such umami and flavor My dad managed Evergreen liquors at the time and would bring it home to us a few times a month in exchange for discounts on adult beverages

I prefer that, because you can taste the topping better Beans are not usually my favorite, but the bean dip was amazing and my favorite of the three The salsa was a close second—sweet and smoky The guac was good, but could use some jalapeño I tried a piece of one of my dad’s flautas, and they were great

Lunch today at Taste of Thai! Yes, they are still having staffing issues and yes, you’ll wait a bit for your food, but I think it’s well worth the wait Chicken Satay was great, yummy peanut sauce accompanied the three sticks of grilled chicken Pork spring rolls were equally good, fresh and well made

"Taste" appeared to be stocked entirely by wine distributors without much curation by staff, and the price markups seemed high Nice looking place, friendly people, but I suspect that having Wine Rack and Gemelli offering significantly more interesting selection and knowledgeable staff within fairly close range had to cut into its traffic
