Converting flat bar into drop bars-----what do I need? I understand the appeal of a drop bar- I have a cx bike for road gravel use - but a narrow-ish flat bar with some comfy bar ends and TOGS might do the same thing An alt-bar from Jones or Surly could be nice as well

XC Bar Widths - Mountain Bike Reviews Forum Personally, I found that either 740mm or 720mm worked for me, however, I was clipping trees more with the 740 bars, so I went with the narrower option of the two I then use a pair of Togs set inboard of my shifter and brakes to get a more narrow grip position for riding in wide-open situations
