Is Surfline wildly wrong or am I just too stupid to understand the . . . So I’m trying to get better at forecasting conditions and reading surf reports I’ve been using Surfline frequently to check to forecast for various beaches in Japan and I noticed Surfline is wrong awfully often While it checks out for maybe 20-30% of the spots, the rest is all over the place To give you an example, Surfline reports a 14 2ft swell @ 13s resulting in 15-18 faces at one
How I use the Surfline forecast : r BeginnerSurfers - Reddit Here is how I use the Surfline app to figure out where to go Step 1-getting to know the spot you want to visit The two most important items to take into account are swell direction and tide Swell direction is important since this is where geography comes in regarding the "exposure" of a spot to swells
Man, Fuck Surfline : r surfing - Reddit exactly surfline is basically a streaming service and on the day of swell I can check wind conditions across multiple local spots via the cams Theyir forecasts are so insanely bad and innaccurate since they updated, at least for my area

Surf tracking with garmin : r surfing - Reddit trueHey guys, I just got a new garmin fenix 7x and there is a "surfline" activity app I can use with it I don't own an apple device so I can't use the surfline sessions for the iPhone But is it any good for tracking? Or better stick to the "surf" activity from garmin on the watch? Any feedback would be appreciated Cheers!
Best alternative to Surfline? : r surfing - Reddit It’s easy, just get some daily swell wind tide charts online, and then magically have the ability to check your local break 5-10x week for anywhere from 3 to the next 10 years I rely on Surfline being wrong to actually get some peace in the water If you can’t pinpoint a micro angle mysto swell down to a 2hr tide window it’s best to just stay home
