Valco boats - IFish Fishing Forum Valco's are great boats They also made some great little 8' and 10' prams like the boat pictured below Super wide, stable and highly desirable for stillwater fishing I've been looking for one for a number of years in the Seattle area Everytime I find one for sale, it is generally in California and is sold within a day or so SF
valco boats - IFish Fishing Forum I bought a 14' Valco jon boat in 1972 to use as a duck hunting boat when I lived in California In 1974 I got a transfer to Alaska and used it for fishing and hunting locally and for fishing in the Yukon
Valco boats | Page 2 | IFish Fishing Forum No experience with Valco's, but can attest the 14' Gregor I grew up with was an awesome boat Light enough to put on top of the station wagon, yet very stable Used to waterski my younger brother and sister with it in Lake Lytle in the late 70's with a 15 hp Johnson motor
Valco drift boat quality | IFish Fishing Forum The Valco DB's that I've seen were early designs and probably 30+ years old Primitive chines and single round tube-reinforced gunnels (gunwhales) Newer boats use extrusions at the chine and dual reinforced gunnels As mentioned it would be a good boat to learn on and you should be able to get it much cheaper than a modern type
good older alum. boats? | IFish Fishing Forum I saw an 18' Hewes in the classifieds awhile back for 5k Not inboard or jet Unless you are fishing a shallow river, Id go with an outbard prop anyways I would stay away from any riveted boats Don't get me wrong, Smokercraft and others are good boats but those rivets being okay depend on the previous owner(s) not being too rough
Gregor Boats out of Business??? - IFish Fishing Forum Valco, was the lightest Riveted boat I had a 14’ Valco I had built with a full height transom Easy to car top on my van Ended up with trailer when poly rope let go and dropped on wife’s new Aerostar in 1989 If I was going to get a trailer originally, I would have bought Klamath or Gregor welded The Bayrunners were easy towing boats
westcoaster boats? - IFish Fishing Forum I just inherited a 95, 15'2" westcoaster boat with a 30hp honda 4 stroke I know they are made by Valco but know little more
1976 14 Valco Aluminum Boat gt; Center Seat Rivet Hull Problem Hello and thanks for reading my post I recently picked up a 1976 14' Valco Aluminum Boat On the Center Seat, the rivets have broken away from the Hull The previous owner removed the rivets and sealed the holes While there are no leaks, the hull really takes a beating in that area when
Help me out with small boat purchase | IFish Fishing Forum 14' - 15' boats REALLY vary As mentioned the Sea Nymph is more of a lake calm bay boat light boats like that will plane nicely with a 9 9 motor but won't handle the slop well Like flyman said, from your list the 14' Klamath, 14' Gregor are GREAT boats If you can be picky and hold out for a 15 5 Western, they are one of the best IMHO
Anybody with personal experience on a Klamath Westcoaster? These boats have the big v-hull bow, are extremely well made , will handle 2-3 foot chop fairly well, you have to slow down I would fish it on nice days in the ocean, 1 4-1 2 mile offshore Very safe boats if operated properly Now as far as fishing in the rivers they troll fine except for when there are alot of boats running up river and down
