Going to Kyoto and Osaka, any must eat things must visit . . . - Reddit I visited Kyoto and Osaka two months ago Osaka is famous for takoyaki and okonomiyaki Dotonbori in Osaka is a famous sightseeing spot and there are many takoyaki restaurants, but I think the takoyaki at "Wanaka" and "Kukuru" are the best In Kyoto, Kiyomizu Temple, Arashiyama, Nishiki Market, and Fushimi Inari are famous tourist attractions
Everything Kyoto - Reddit I have been to famous spots like Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizu-dera, Kyoto station, Nishiki market, horseracing etc So I’m looking for hidden gems in Kyoto Preferably related to Japanese culture (I mean not like shopping centres) Events will also be good, but I searched in calendars and there’s no event in Kyoto Thank you so much!
5 Days in KYOTO: What to do? What to skip? : r Kyoto - Reddit 5 days in Kyoto or 5 days in Kansai? For Kyoto itself, I think 5 days is a reasonable amount of time, but if you're using it as a base for Kansai I would recommend at least a couple more for at least day trips to Nara, Osaka, and Himeji (possibly with Kobe) For Kyoto itself, I answered almost this exact question a couple of years ago in this
Best thing you ate in Kyoto? : r JapanTravelTips - Reddit We are at A Happy Pancake Kyoto and had the BEST soufflé pancakes for breakfast we have ever had Waited 45 mins and don’t regret a second of it!! There are also fantastic cocktails at Scotch and Branch We had great Mitarashi dango near the train station at Arashiyama, but it was a long wait and very crowded
Best location to stay in for first visit to Kyoto? I would suggest the Cross Hotel Kyoto (different location than the Sakura Cross Hotel suggested in another comment ) It was super close to Pontocho Alley and Kiyamachi-dori We easily walked to Gion several times The Sanyo train station is a 5 minute walk, and it was fairly easy getting to from Kyoto station
Is Kyoto that crowded? : r JapanTravelTips - Reddit Kyoto Imperial Palace had lots of tourists at the place itself but was well worth it Many restaurants are fully booked days in advance but you can then have some amazing finds as you wander around We also went out of town 45 mins to Ruriko-in temple and the Nan-Nyan-ji cat art museum (it’s not really a temple but it is awesome)
What attractions should I pre-book in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka? By the way, I also visited the Kyoto International Manga Museum if you are into that stuff Enjoy you Japan travels! Edited: There is a Ghibli warehouse in Nagoya if time permits you to travel from Osaka (or Kyoto) to Nagoya if you missed the Ghibli museum in Tokyo, but check if there are any available tickets
I only have one day in the Kyoto area. What should I prioritize? I'm leaving for Japan soon, but I will be busy on the weekdays I only have one day in Kyoto I'll be getting into Kyoto at 5:30pm on Saturday, and then I have all day Sunday, so I could wake up early I'm wondering if on Sunday I should prioritize seeing Kyoto, Nara, or trying to do both in one day I need to be back in Nagoya by late Sunday
An Unforgettable Watch-Buying Experience at Kuoe, Kyoto An older British couple walked in as well because the wife wanted to buy a second Kuoe watch as she loved her first one I overheard the husband talking to the staff and apparently they are coming out with a larger watch soon (apparently a common request) They also told me they are opening a flagship store next year in Kyoto Highly recommended
More days in Kyoto or Osaka? : r JapanTravelTips - Reddit kyoto was boring for me, i hated it with a passion it wasn’t my type of city the things i saw were cool but i felt that i couldn’t spend time in it without going to some tourist attraction whereas in both osaka and tokyo i feel like i could happily spend so much time looking at the neighbourhoods and shops and streets without even going
