index - XMage - Reddit XMage can be downloaded from the XMage (www xmage de) website It's as simple as downloading the zip, extracting it all, and running the XMage jar file! There is a small amount of setup involved, with things like card images and mana symbols being downloaded through the in-game client itself, through the buttons on the top right of the client
Forge and XMage: The best free and open source rules engines . . . - Reddit Forge and XMage are very mature rules engines--they have been around for longer than a decade now--but I feel they do not receive as much praise and attention as they deserve contrary to the main WotC client (MTGO), for example, they run on pretty much any OS, feature single player modes (against AI), the ability to self-host a magic server
Guide to Hosting a Private Server : r XMage - Reddit Now, in the XMage client, simply use the server name (such as MyServer) in the Server Name field, and you should be able to connect! Xmage, why so underused? : r EDH - Reddit Xmage has some potential because it's entirely free, and you get to play any card and format in the game, with multiple players Only problem I saw so far, is that the UI is ugly
Forge, Xmage, or Cockatrice? : r magicTCG - Reddit XMage and Forge have rules enforcement, but XMage needs a stable internet connection; mine's occasionally iffy, so it would be forever dropping mid-game, even against AI
Unable to download card images? : r XMage - Reddit 0b) Open up one xmage client and do not, under any exceptions, connect to the server with this one client (or open deckeditor or cardview or start a game etc) 0c) Change your local images directory (in Preferences -> Images) to a new directory (I suggest C:\Xmage_images) Download only images for standard or a single set only Let it run
