Pleurx catheter - Lung cancer - Inspire Hi Terri, I had a pleurx catheter it was great, in the end The procedure was a bit painful- ask for a painkiller first The draining was a little painful each time ( 3 times a week to start) but you learn to stop draining before being empty to eliminate the pain I went to a local CLSC for the draining, it was quick relatively pleasant
