  • Best thing you ate in Kyoto? : r JapanTravelTips - Reddit
I’m in Kyoto for a couple more days and wanted to ask what was the best thing you had here? My friends and I love food and have been eating our way around town We aren’t really into gourmet dining or Kaiseki meals We’d love some recommendations and to hear what good stuff you’ve had! So far, my favorites in Kyoto have been Chao Chao Gyoza and Menya Inoichi
  • 1. 5 days in Kyoto sufficient? What should I do… - Reddit
Specifically, I will be leaving reaching Kyoto around 12pm on 12th Jan and leaving Kyoto on the morning of 14th Jan Therefore, there is only 1 5 days of exploring in Kyoto I would love to do Arashiyama bamboo forest and Fushimi Inari (red gates) on 13th Jan, which leaves me only 0 5 days for the rest my time in Kyoto
  • Everything Kyoto - Reddit
A subreddit dedicated to residents of Kyoto to discuss daily life
  • 5 Days in KYOTO: What to do? What to skip? : r Kyoto - Reddit
5 days in Kyoto or 5 days in Kansai? For Kyoto itself, I think 5 days is a reasonable amount of time, but if you're using it as a base for Kansai I would recommend at least a couple more for at least day trips to Nara, Osaka, and Himeji (possibly with Kobe) For Kyoto itself, I answered almost this exact question a couple of years ago in this post I do not recommend treating this like a check
  • What’s the best area to stay in Kyoto? : r JapanTravelTips - Reddit
The small downside, I think, is that to get anywhere else often requires getting back to Kyoto Station which is an additional hop And I dunno what Airbnbs are like these days (heh, I'm probably overthinking any potential changes in the last year)
  • Where would you go in Kyoto if you only had about 2 days there?
The only "kyoto spot" that you need to see is Fushimi Inari (did you even go to kyoto if you didnt take a picture of the tori gates?) Go early morning to Fushimi Inari, climb the mountain and go down the other side, stop at the shop selling amasake and just chill out
  • Best location to stay in for first visit to Kyoto? - Reddit
I would suggest the Cross Hotel Kyoto (different location than the Sakura Cross Hotel suggested in another comment ) It was super close to Pontocho Alley and Kiyamachi-dori We easily walked to Gion several times The Sanyo train station is a 5 minute walk, and it was fairly easy getting to from Kyoto station
  • Osaka vs. Kyoto? : r JapanTravelTips - Reddit
Staying 4-5 days in the Osaka, Kyoto area with plans to visit the surrounding cities ( Himeji,Kobe,Nara) Would it be better to stay in Osaka or Kyoto ?
  • Where to stay in kyoto on a budget? Some hotel suggestions . . . - Reddit
I stayed at Imu Hotel Kyoto for 3 nights this month and enjoyed my stay there Clean hotel, friendly staff, good location, great breakfast
  • How much time should we spend in Kyoto vs Tokyo? - Reddit
Spend more time in Kyoto and less in Tokyo Kyoto has dozens of shrines, temples, and amazing food It is also cheaper than Tokyo (in general), and much more accessible by foot and public transport to multiple sites in a day Tokyo is fine for a sprawling city and all but if you like history Kyoto has more old sites that are still around and
