Swagelok BT or Normal fittings - Homebrew Talk All, Was looking around at Swagelok fittings and I found some say bored through, some are normal Should I get the BT ones? I am looking to use 1 2 rigid copper for my pickup tube So I want 1 2" npt by 5 8 tube Also for my hex, 1 2 copper or stainless so I was looking at the 1 2 npt x 1 2 tube Was leaning towards the BT models
swagelok vs compression fittings - Homebrew Talk Swagelok is a BRAND of compression fitting The brand really doesn't matter However, Swagelok has been used to describe all compression fittings in some circles just like "bandaid" is used to name all bandages in common conversation
Swagelok 1 2 tubing bender - Homebrew Talk With the swagelok fittings you can get the tube to pipe fittings "Bore Through" so the tubing Od is maintained through the fitting With the new system plumbing all in 1 2" tubing it looks like the tubing pressure drop is not going to be a limiting factor, grain bed compaction over 1 GPM flow will be the limiting factor
Swagelok compression nut thread coating - Homebrew Talk I picked up some Swagelok compression fittings on ebay I didn't notice in the picture that there was a off-white yellowish coating on threads of the compression nut Anyone know what this is and if it's safe for brewing? I asked the seller but he wasn't sure
Blichmann Fermenator Owners - Are You Happy? - Homebrew Talk Personally I prefer my sanke half barrel fermenter and it was about 1 8th the cost I have a 14 gallon Fermenator that I upgraded myself with a KF-25 flange 1" dump and series 60 Swagelok ball valves and I almost never use it anymore It doesn't fit in a fridge and it's hot where I live so there is no way to get good temperature control
Teflon tape | Homebrew Talk - Beer, Wine, Mead, Cider Brewing . . . There is no pressure rating on PTFE tape I asked my local Swagelok rep, who I am tight with, and he's never heard of such a thing My father, who was a ChemE for 35 years in industry, also never heard of such a thing either I am an MS ChemE and I've never run across this in 15 years on the job
Flow Meter to use with Arduino? - Homebrew Talk meh, they arent rated for food, and impeller type flow sensors are impossible to clean, let alone sanitize after use, especially with unfiltered beer with yeast it has some good qualities (cheap, rated for pressure) but thats about it, i would hardly call it perfect
DIY False Bottom - Homebrew Talk nice job! in re the pickup tube: i'm pretty sure you cannot remove the FB once the dip tube is installed you might want to mount the tube in such a way as to make it easily removable, as you will probably want to clean out the very bottom of the MLT once you remove the bulk of the grains (you will most likely have some sediment down there)
Easy Steam Infusion Mash System - Homebrew Talk Having built and operated a steam injection to circulating wort system, temperature control is as easy as monitoring mixed flow temperature and controlling steam input Normal flow rate through swagelok tee mixer with a SS screen wire steam diffuser is 83 gpm and water into steam generator is 05 gpm
Brew rigs: hard plumbed lines vs flexible tubing Kettle outputs will be hard plumbed to the pumps via stainless 3 4" tubing and swagelok fittings Pump outputs will be routed around the brewery with silicon hose This way, my pumps are always primed, the kettles are locked in place, and I still have the flexibility of a hose system without a manifold block
