Remo vs. Evans heads | [DFO] Drum Forum I agree Remo coatings for batter heads don't seem to have much of a life-span I seldom use coated heads, prefer textured heads for snares so have limited experience To my ears, Evans heads seem to fit a more modern sound that emphasizes attack at the expense of resonance i would rather have the resonance, ergo i use mostly Remo heads 1 2 3
A Good snare batter comparison video - Remo, Evans, Aquarian I play hard most of the time, so I need Remo coated Emperor snare batter heads And for a fatter snare sound on some occasions I often use a 14" Remo pinstripe batter head The one snare batter head I played on and was quite impressed with was a snare batter head that was made of Kevlar, looked like a yellow fabric weave texture
Remos | [DFO] Drum Forum Remo has always been a big dog in the area of drum heads and has a bit of a following for their world percussion instruments Their djembes in particular are very popular As for their drum kits, they never became a major player That isn't because of quality Their drums sound great and I've found them to have good build quality
Gretsch Permatone heads compared to Remo Coated Ambassador To my knowledge, Permatone heads are actually Remo Ambassador heads! Remo just stamps the Permatone logo on them If I'm mistaken, I hope others will chime in -Mark Apr 20, 2015 #3

Aquarian drumheads vs Remo? | [DFO] Drum Forum How are the Aquarian "Performance II Power Dot" drumheads? I've always played the Remo pinstripes and really like them I like the look of the Aquarians as they are a bit more decorative and have the black stripe and white dot in the center I've never played Aquarian, how are they compared to
Remo Classic fit? | [DFO] Drum Forum Anyone using these? I've always been a Coated Ambassador kinda person, but loved the fit and tuning of the Heavy Ludwig WM's with the shallower collar I don't have fitment issues on the mid-60's Ludwigs and post(?)-international Premiers Would these "Classic Fit" heads have more of the
Remo Suede vs Coated? | [DFO] Drum Forum Anyone have any experience comparing Remo coated with the regular or white Suede? They sound pretty similar in the videos I looked up, but I'm curious is they differ much in person
Heads for timbales - [DFO] Drum Forum For the time being I stuck a couple of Remo Ebony Series heads I had in stock on them and they sound pretty good, but I thought I'd check with any Latin specialists here on the forum to see what might be the best heads to stick on them I'm assuming a plastic head would be the best choice
